A Grave Homecoming
04:53
|
|
||
A home once warm
Reduced to smoldering ashes
The family, once sacred
Now left to rot
The bones tell him all he needs to know
He has naught left
His world lies shattered in pieces
And burned to the ground
He buries them in the garden
Among rose and thistle
They lie in violent repose
Life drained from their forms
And as the sun goes down
He wipes tears from his eyes
And sets the shovel down
The dirt and his life before him lies in death
The peace that he had found
Broken, torn and dragged asunder
By vicious evil men
He sees their tracks and cries once more
The moon rises overhead
He cries in travail
Let this be my end
Or let them find their end by my own hands

Lament and Revenge
03:27
|
|
||
Selas, the moon goddess
I call upon thee
He cries into the night
Grant me the death that I crave
Or the vengeance I need
He begs to the sky
I want to be with them
Or I’ll see to it that
Those responsible shall die
Be it be by my hand
Or by the moon’s light
I shall see them all suffer
He falls to the floor
Begging the sky
She takes pity upon him
And grants him a great boon
My cherished follower
She says unto him
I grant thee the strength
To find your vengeance
She gives him the power
To take into his hands
The justice of the moon
You will go out
And you will find them all
Hunt them down like the prey
That they are
Don’t let any escape from your wrath
You are the mortal sword of the moon
So he sets out on his mission
One step closer to his vengeance

The Hunt
03:38
|
|
||
Staring in their eyes
As he takes their lives
His rage will know no end
And despite the wounds
That he suffers
Still he carries out his vengeance
Uncaring, inhuman
He dreams only in blood
He becomes like a demigod
And all he knows is wrath
For his family
Lost humanity
Ashes and bones
All he knows is death
Suffer this agony
For them
Always for them
The end is here for all
Who took them away
It’s over

Ashes in the Snow
03:25
|
|
||
What curse most foul
Keeps me alive?
The man screams into the sky
This gift cannot be reversed
She smiles from the moon
You are my pawn now
My mortal sword
No this cannot be
The man seeks death
But cannot find the rest
Torn from sanity
He breaks down
And all he knew goes away
Like ashes in the snow

Vow of Destruction
03:23
|
|
||
I take this vow of destruction
Against the moon goddess, Selas
The man makes his pact in blood
And his ascended spirit darkens
For his family he takes this vow
To destroy the curse
And rest with them
He starts a cult against his master
And with it drains her of her power
Sacrifice
He raids those villages
Who worship her
He bleeds them for the power
And leaves no witnesses
Of his inhumanity
Forsaken god, you will bow to me
He screams into the night
Forsaken god, you will submit to me
He screams at the moon

Iōhannēs North Carolina
Iōhannēs was a project born out of a need to express and expel the darker parts of the mind. In doing so, the project eventually lost form and traction, and has since been retired. I am still proud of the work, but ultimately the job was done, and the time had come to move on. Thank you to everyone who still cares about this little bedroom project. Much love. ... more
